The Hellenic Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity organized a meeting in Athens to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
Members of the solidarity movement with Cuba participated in the event, as well as representatives of various organizations, unions, PAME, and others. Among the personalities attending were BP member and KKE deputy, Giorgos Marinos, Chrysoula Lampoudi, from PAME, and Eugenia Papamakariou, from the Hellenic Committee for International Democratic Solidarity (EEDDA).
The president of the Helleno-Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity, Nikos Karandreas, the member of the board of directors of the Association, Nikos Leontidis and the young woman who was responsible for the representation of Greek friends who participated in the brigade spoke. of solidarity who visited Cuba last December, Eleni Theohari – Paipuroglou. The Cuban ambassador, Aramís Fuente Hernández, also spoke.
All the speakers highlighted the significance of the Cuban revolution and the example of courage and resistance that its people have given, in the most difficult conditions, and under the permanent aggressions of imperialism. Once again, the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government for more than 60 years and the unjustified and arbitrary inclusion of Cuba among the countries supposedly promoting terrorism were condemned.
The event featured a book exhibition and concluded with an artistic program, led by the band of the Coordinating Committee of People with Disabilities (SEAAN), which performed revolutionary songs.
