On the night of July 26, Cuban and Venezuelan diplomats accredited in Athens accompanied a large group of Greek citizens who gathered at Eleftherias (Freedom) Park to celebrate the 69th Anniversary of the attack on the Cuartel Moncada in Santiago de Cuba, and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, in Bayamo, on July 26, 1953. After the emotional and supportive words of the representative of the organizations that convened this commemoration and the speech delivered by the Cuban ambassador, a magnificent cultural act took place, with talented musicians and singers who masterfully interpreted traditional Greek and Latin compositions, and some of the well-known works of the unforgettable Mikis Theodorakis, and also of the well-known and popular composer Manos Loizos. The activity closed with the screening of the documentary "Cuba, Caminos de Revolución-Antes del '59". It was a warm day of remembrance and ratification of the solidarity and friendship that characterize the feelings of the Greek people towards the combative Cuban people and their Revolution and a worthy tribute to the heroic feat of Moncada.
