ACR "Martyrs of Barbados" holds its National Meeting 2018

The Association of Resident Cubans "Mártires de Barbados" held its 2018 National Meeting at the Embassy of Cuba in the City of Bridgetown, Barbados, on the 28th day of April, with the purpose of relaunching the patriotic work of our organization, to carry out the renewal of its directive and to approve later the projections for the immediate work, conscious of the need to stay united and in full capacity of solidarity with our country; In this regard, we welcome the excellent results of the recent elections held in our country, freely, independently and sovereignly, with the added value that the historic generation has delivered with full confidence the Presidency of the Councils of State and Ministers to a representative of the new generations of Cubans, who has committed himself before the National Assembly and before our people to guarantee the continuity of the work of the Revolution.

We ratify the infinite love and respect towards our country, the commitment to cultivate the values ​​of our identity as a nation, and the unshakeable will to defend, wherever we are, the conquests of the Cuban Revolution.

With the same symbolism that has made for our history these elections commemorating the Victory of Playa Girón, we celebrated the great workers' party on May 1st, and we joined that sea of ​​people that will fill all the squares of the country, with jubilation and dignity as children of the homeland of Martí.

1. We commit ourselves to continue strengthening the functioning of our Association, as an entity that encourages the voluntary grouping of all Cubans living in Barbados who feel and manifest the pride of being Cubans, who want Cuba and their revolutionary work and who are interested in transmitting to the new generations our national identity and the love of the country, no matter where we are.

2. To support all the actions that our country applies in order to demand that the current administration of the United States of America commit itself with seriousness not to continue to impede the process begun in December 2014 towards the normalization of relations with Cuba, based on in respect to the sovereignty, independence and self-determination of both peoples.

3. Prioritize in our work the patriotic activities in support of the total lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, which evidently has intensified, as well as the return of the territory occupied illegally by the US Naval Base. in Guantánamo.

4. Honor the name that identifies our Association "Martyrs of Barbados" and pay tribute to the victims of state terrorism in almost six decades, rejecting that and all forms of hostility against our people, who have the right to build their future in peace and social harmony.

5. Contribute to the dissemination of the achievements of our people in the new scenario and counteract the media campaigns against Cuba, by all means available to us, in particular by making appropriate and constant use of social networks.

6. Work jointly with the Barbadian organizations that make up the Solidarity with Cuba Movement in favor of Cuba and the promotion of cooperative relations with Barbados and with the rest of the sister nations of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and of the Americas. Latina, in favor of true regional integration.

7. Maintain fraternal communication with other Associations of Cuban Residents in countries of the area and when the time comes to support the creation of the Regional Coordinator of Resident Cubans, helping to spread the best experiences in the actions in favor of our Homeland.

8. To assist the youngest members of our Association and our descendants, attracting them to the activities and initiatives that motivate them in our patriotic work.

9. Contribute systematically with our Consulate to keep the registry of Cubans living in the country updated, thus favoring all forms of closer communication and collaboration links of the community.

10. To carry out activities in our Cuban patriotic community that contribute to the preservation of our cultural and historical values ​​and to the permanent information about the Cuban current affairs.

12. Commemorate the most significant national dates of Cuban history and culture, conjugating them with fraternization activities that keep us united as a community and with the Fatherland.

January 1st.- Triumph of the Cuban Revolution.

 January 28.- Birth of the National Hero José Martí.

April 19.- Victory of Girón Beach.

July 26.- Assault to Moncada and C.M de Céspedes Garrisons.

October 6.- Sabotage to Cubana's plane, in off coasts of Barbados.

October 10th.- Beginning of the Wars of Independence.

October 20th. Cuban Culture Day

Other celebrations that allow us to fraternize: Mother's Day, Women's Day, Parents' Day, Children's and Young People's Day.

13. Hold the Annual National Meeting in Barbados and create conditions to participate in the Regional Meeting, when it is convened.
