On December 10, 2025, US military forces rapelled onto an oil tanker while it sailed in international waters in the Caribbean Sea, off the Venezuelan coasts.
Today, November 30, 2025, at the Military Parade, an official ceremony commemorating the 59th Anniversary of Barbados' Independence and the 4th Anniversary of the Republic, the inauguration of the new president, The Most Honourable Jeffrey Bostic, took place.
Today, November 7th, the Cuban Ambassador to Barbados, Yanet Stable Cárdenas, received at the diplomatic headquarters Ms. Angelica Serrano, President of the UFLC Foreign Language Club; Mr. Kashon Brewster, UFLC Public Relations Officer; and Mr. Achilles Hall, co-founder of the Hibiscus Culture and Sports Foundation.
With the catastrophic passage of Hurricane Melissa through the Caribbean region, the resulting damage paints a devastating picture. Having claimed approximately 49 lives, the damage to essential infrastructure and homes is estimated to exceed US$500 million. In response to these effects, the Official Regional Fund for Aid and Financial Support has been established for the territories affected by the recent devastation of Hurricane Melissa.
