Mr. President of the General Assembly,

Madam Deputy Secretary-General,

In approximately three hours, exactly 66 years will have passed since Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz uttered the following words, in a memorable speech delivered from this very rostrum, and I quote: “Let the philosophy of plunder disappear, and the philosophy of war will have disappeared! Let the colonies disappear, let the exploitation of countries by monopolies disappear, and then humanity will have reached a true stage of progress.”

Statement from the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs learned today, September 18, through press reports, of the surprising statement made by Costa Rica’s Foreign Minister, Manuel Tovar Rivera, to the Miami Herald, that “a break in diplomatic relations” with Cuba has occurred, something that has never been formally notified by the authorities of that country to the Cuban government.

At the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment (MINCEX), a ceremony was held to receive the thirteenth shipment of humanitarian aid from Mexico, accompanied on this occasion by donations from the member states of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

The Organizing Committee of the Havana International Trade Fair extends a warm invitation to participate in the 42nd edition of FIHAV 2026, which will take place from November 24 to 26, 2026.

Since 1984, FIHAV has established itself as the largest multisectoral trade fair in Cuba and the Caribbean, and as one of the most representative trade fairs in Latin America. Each year, it brings together a significant number of national and international businesspeople from more than 60 countries.
