Her Excellency Dame Graça Machel, former Minister of Education of Mozambique, former First Lady of the Republics of Mozambique and South Africa, widow of former South African President Nelson Mandela, visited Barbados in recent days and starred alongside Carol Roberts, Executive Director of the National Cultural Foundation of Barbados, in an excellent and entertaining public debate entitled, “Reflections on the Road to Freedom”.
Last August 18 we celebrated at the Cuban Embassy in Barbados, the 98th anniversary of the birth of our Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz.
The Cuban delegation made up of officials from UNECA and the Cuban Ministry of Construction concluded its working visit to Barbados on August 17. After having carried out a broad program of activities, which included meetings with Cuban workers hired in Barbados, as well as exchanges with executives of the construction companies PRECONCO and Co. Williams Construction Limited, with the latter the possibility of expanding the hiring of workers and engineers of the sector was discussed, for which a contract was signed with said company.
The delegation of the Ministry of Construction of Cuba that made a working visit to Barbados and the officials of the Cuban Embassy in this country, commemorated last August 13, the 98th anniversary of the birth of our beloved Fidel, making a visit to the Barbados Airplane Martyrs' Monument.
On August 9, a delegation of officials working in the construction sector in Cuba arrived in Barbados for a working visit with Cuban workers and engineers hired in Barbados, as well as to sign some collaboration agreements with several of the construction companies of this country, which are currently employers of our workers.
