ACT OF SOLIDARITY WITH THE CUBAN PEOPLE IN THESSALONIKI, GREECE

Organized by the Hellenic Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity with Cuba in Thessaloniki, in one of the halls of the Town Hall, a meeting was held that addressed as the main theme "The Cuban public health system, its internationalist dimension and the confrontation of the Covid19”. The president of the Association, Voula Karabindou, welcomed and introduced the Ambassador of Cuba in Greece, Aramís Fuente Hernández, who highlighted in his speech the most important aspects of the Cuban public health system, as a right of all the people, and the main elements of the successful battle waged against Covid19, which, in Cuba, with the application of its sanitary protocols and its own effective vaccines, is already under control. The diplomat also emphasized the internationalist convictions of the Cuban people that have had a clear and evident expression in the medical collaboration that thousands of specialists and other workers in the sector have provided, for more than 60 years, to dozens of countries that have requested the Cuban contribution to save lives and improve their health systems. The large audience also received with great interest the extensive and documented intervention carried out by Dr. George Mitisiakis, Associate Professor of Pediatrics-Neonatology at the Faculty of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as well as those of other speakers who intervened in the act. The meeting was held within the framework of the activities to commemorate the 64th Anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
