The Ambassador of Cuba in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Vilma Reyes Valdespino, was received at the newsroom of the Vincentian newspaper "Searchlight" by its Director, Mrs. Claire Keizer.
During the fraternal meeting, the Cuban diplomat addressed the issue of the activation of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act in the context of the increasing aggressiveness of the US Administration towards Cuba. She also referred the restrictive measures with which, in a gradual manner, the US Administration has been thinning the bilateral climate, obstructing the exchanges between the two countries and hindering the legal, organized and safe migration flow.
Mrs. Keizer reaffirmed her solidarity with the Cuban and world battle against the blockade, in which Cuba counts, every year, with the determined support of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
When mentioning the sending, by Cuba, of a field hospital with medical personnel to Mozambique, to alleviate the terrible consequences of cyclone Idai, the Cuban Ambassador pointed out that the new attempts of imperialism and its allies to asphyxiate the Revolution, have found intact the Cuban vocation of solidarity and the altruism of its doctors.
Finally, she assured that the activation of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act will only reinforce the struggle for the total and unconditional lifting of the blockade, imposed by the United States against the largest of the Antilles.
