The VII African Continental Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba will gather friendly voices of the Caribbean nation and in rejection to the hostile policy of the United States.
The event, organized by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), has among its objectives to strengthen ties between the African continent and our country.
It will pay tribute to the historic leader of the Revolution Fidel Castro and Ernesto Che Guevara, internationalist symbols in the struggles for the independence of the peoples of the African continent.
The event, scheduled to be held on October 7, will adopt a virtual format due to Covid-19. The event will bring together initiatives and exchanges of strategies in favor of solidarity with the island and against the economic, commercial and financial siege of the United States and its intensification by the administrations of Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
The October date also commemorates the fall in combat of Che, the beginning of the struggles for Cuba's independence, the World Day of Solidarity with the Caribbean nation, the death of Burkina Faso revolutionary Thomas Sankara and the birth of South African leader Oliver Tambo.
In this month, in addition, several African countries celebrate their emancipation from colonial rule and their birth as free states.
