Islamabad, April 30, 2026. The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Damián Cordero Torres, was received on a courtesy visit by His Excellency Dr. Brahim Romani, Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.
During the meeting, the representatives briefly reviewed the strong ties of friendship between the two countries. The Cuban Ambassador was pleased to recall that Algeria marked the beginning of what would later become a pillar of strength for Cuba: Cuban international medical cooperation. He also expressed gratitude for the Algerian government’s unconditional support for Cuba against the U.S. blockade in every possible arena. For his part, Dr. Romani, an excellent host and a profound scholar of history, expressed his gratitude for the continued presence of Cuban medical personnel in his homeland and for Cuba’s commitment to the Algerian cause since its inception.
At the conclusion of the visit, both ambassadors agreed on the importance of maintaining dialogue on matters of mutual interest and of supporting the strengthening of bilateral relations through diplomatic collaboration.
