Lahore, July 25, 2026. Solidarity with Cuba had its epicenter in Lahore, a city recognized as the cultural heart of Pakistan, precisely on the eve of July 26, National Rebellion Day.
In an activity that brought together workers and peasants of the Mazdoor Kisan Party (Workers and Peasants Party) in a united front, along with students from the Progressive Students Federation, the passionate solidarity towards Cuba and the rejection of the genocidal US blockade were experienced.
The grand event, to which the Ambassador of Cuba to this country, Damián Cordero Torres, was invited, was also the setting to celebrate Cuba's recent victory at the United Nations against the US government's blockade; the centenary of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz; and National Rebellion Day in Cuba.
Several representatives of this coalition took the floor to make clear their rejection of the criminal blockade by the Yankee power and the importance of providing—like never before—solidarity to Cuba, an example and living expression of that value that ennobles human beings, according to the speakers.
During the event, the Cuban ambassador was presented with 108 signatures from participants who had joined the global solidarity campaign ‘I Sign for Cuba’.
For his part, the Cuban ambassador reiterated his gratitude for Pakistan's vote in favor of Cuba in the General Assembly in New York and detailed the damage caused by the energy siege, almost daily sanctions, and unilateral coercive measures affecting the Cuban people, the result of an obsessive and ruthless policy of the current US administration.
The activity carried the inherent passion of youth and the loyalty of workers and peasants who together chanted several times in favor of Cuba and against the blockade, both in their Urdu language and even in Spanish. Everyone agreed that respect and solidarity for Cuba are deeply rooted in the Pakistani people.
