Dili, October 6, 2026. Australian Ambassador Caitlin Wilson hosted the screening of the film from her country, which is being shown as part of the Dili International Film Festival (DIFF). The festival celebrates the creativity of filmmakers from around the world and from Timor-Leste, and is sponsored by the Nobel laureate and President of the country, His Excellency Dr. José Ramos-Horta.
This festival was founded by Michael Smith, an entrepreneur, adventurer, and founder of Screens Without Borders and the Loro sa'e cinema in East Timor, together with festival director Lena Lenzen of the award-winning Dili-based production company Pixelasia Productions.
Cuban Ambassador Alina Aldama attended the screening of *Journey Home*, a 2025 biographical documentary that chronicles the difficult journey undertaken by the family of the famous Indigenous Australian actor David Gulpilil to bring his remains back to his homeland and fulfill his final wish.
