Dili, September 19, 2026. At the Nobre de Lahane Palace, another commemorative event organized by the Timorese Medical Association was held, attended by the Cuban ambassador, Alina Aldama; along with the head of the Medical Brigade, Dr. Andrés Villar Bahamonde; and the coordinator of the Cuban doctors working at the country’s national hospital, Dr. Rogelio Garcés.

At the headquarters of the Portuguese Cultural Center, located within the premises of its Embassy, Ambassador Duarte Bué Alves, accompanied by the general director of Pluralidad de Editores and Grupo Editorial de Porto, Hélder de Carvalho, offered a beautiful introduction to the event, which featured young Timorese students reading excerpts from the book Mauberíadas* by Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao.
Dili, September 17, 2026. Malaysian Ambassador Fairuz Rozali, accompanied by his wife, welcomed the participants to the event organized to mark the 63rd anniversary of his country’s National Day.
In this context, the President of Timor-Leste, Dr. José Ramos-Horta, highlighted the strength of bilateral relations between the two nations and expressed gratitude for the support received regarding his country’s accession to ASEAN.
Dili, September 15, 2026. At the Government Palace in Timor-Leste, Cuban diplomat Alina Aldama was received by senior Timorese government official Elizabeth Exposto, who serves as Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister and Executive Director of the Timor-Leste Land and Maritime Borders Office (GFTM).
During the meeting, the ambassador had the opportunity to provide details about the unjust and criminal blockade imposed by the U.S. government on the Cuban people, as well as the consequences of the energy crisis that has affected all Cuban households throughout 2026.
