Cultural gala organized by the Timor-Leste School of Medicine as part of the celebration of Cuban Culture Day and the centennial of the birth of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution

Dili, October 19, 2026. Students from the Higher School of Medicine, accompanied by their Cuban professors—members of the Medical Brigade serving in the country—organized a cultural gala to conclude the Student Scientific Conference.

During the event, the students demonstrated the Spanish language skills they had acquired by performing a skit and singing several songs. They also performed traditional dances and paraded in national costumes.

Ambassador Alina Aldama Attended the Screening of a Brazilian Film at the 2026 International Film Festival

Dili, October 19, 2026. At the Brazilian Embassy in the capital of Timor-Leste, Ambassador Ricardo Lustosa Leal welcomed participants to the 2026 film festival. On this occasion, the Brazilian film “The Secret Agent” was screened.
The event was attended by members of the government, prominent figures from the country, and representatives of the diplomatic corps. Among the participants were Cuban Ambassador Alina Aldama and official José Heredia.

Ambassador Alina Aldama denounced the blockade against the Cuban people during the opening ceremony of the Comprehensive Health Program in the capital of Timor-Leste

Dili, October 19, 2026. At the headquarters of the Dili Municipal Authority, before the staff of that institution and accompanied by executives from the departments of Surveying, Sanitation, Urban Planning, Training, and Cooperation, as well as the coordinator of Solidarity with Cuba, the head of the Medical Brigade, Cuban doctors, and students from the Higher School of Medicine, those present listened to the remarks of the head of the Cuban diplomatic mission, Alina Aldama.

Ambassador Alina Aldama attended a forum on the Tais, chaired by the Head of State of Timor-Leste, Dr José Ramos-Horta.

Dili, 13 October 2026. At the Nicolau Lobato Presidential Palace, the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, His Excellency Dr José Ramos-Horta, opened the national forum on the conservation of the Tais as part of the country’s Intangible Cultural Heritage, a status granted by UNESCO.

The event was attended by members of the Government and Parliament, representatives of the United Nations system, members of the diplomatic corps, members of the National Network for the Preservation of Tais, and Timorese students.
