The President of Timor-Leste, Dr. José Ramos-Horta, attended a reception hosted by the East Timor Trading Group, where Cuban Ambassador Alina Aldama was also present

Dili, October 4, 2026. At the Lahane Presidential Palace, the head of state of Timor-Leste, Dr. José Ramos-Horta, was the keynote speaker at the event organized by the East Timor Trading Group, which celebrated its annual meeting and recognized the winners of the 2026 International Film Festival awards.

The event was attended by the Cuban government’s top representative in the country, Ambassador Alina Aldama, who had the opportunity to mingle with other diplomats and with the head of the Presidential Civil Office, Henriqueta Maria da Silva.

A social dinner organized by the Secretariat of Cooperatives in honor of the 2026 ASEAN Regional Conference, attended by Cuban Head of Mission Alina Aldama

Dili, October 4, 2026. At the GMN Multipurpose Hall in Bebora, the Secretariat of State for Cooperatives, led by its head, Arsénio Pereira da Silva, hosted a reception for participants in the Regional Conference on Cooperatives and the Ministerial Dialogue. On this occasion, the Secretary of State was accompanied by First Deputy Prime Minister Francisco Kalbuadi Lay. Both addressed the attendees of the event, which is being held in the country over three days.

The Cuban ambassador attended the opening ceremony of the 2026 ASEAN Cooperative Expo

Dili, October 4, 2026. The Secretary of State for Cooperatives, Arsénio Pereira da Silva, accompanied by the Minister of Industry, Filipus Nino Pereira, presided over the opening ceremony of the

Regional Conference on Cooperatives and the Ministerial Dialogue, which included an exhibition at the convention center in the capital of East Timor.

The event, whose theme is “Empowering Communities, Connecting Nations,” will be held from October 2 to 4, 2026, and brings together representatives from the member countries of the regional organization.

Cuban Head of Mission Alina Aldama was invited to the first reception hosted by the Vietnamese Embassy

Dili, September 30, 2026. In the presence of the President of Timor-Leste, Dr. José Ramos-Horta, Vietnam’s ambassador-designate, Pham Binh Dam, and his wife welcomed the guests to the first reception organized by their country.

Both the Timorese head of state and the Vietnamese diplomat reviewed the development of bilateral relations between the two countries and highlighted the importance of strengthening those ties with the opening of the embassy.

Cuba’s Ambassador, Alina Aldama, participated on behalf of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country.
