Ambassador Alina Aldama denounced the blockade against the Cuban people during the opening ceremony of the Comprehensive Health Program in the capital of Timor-Leste

Dili, October 19, 2026. At the headquarters of the Dili Municipal Authority, before the staff of that institution and accompanied by executives from the departments of Surveying, Sanitation, Urban Planning, Training, and Cooperation, as well as the coordinator of Solidarity with Cuba, the head of the Medical Brigade, Cuban doctors, and students from the Higher School of Medicine, those present listened to the remarks of the head of the Cuban diplomatic mission, Alina Aldama.
In her speech, the Cuban diplomat highlighted the importance that the leaders of the Cuban Revolution have always placed on solidarity and collaboration with sister nations. She also noted that this work takes on special significance in the year marking the centennial of the birth of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, particularly as the Cuban people face an energy crisis and the strangulation of their economy as a result of measures imposed by the U.S. government.
In this context, Cuban professionals serve as proof that no policy of hostility will prevent Cuba from sharing its humanistic mission with friendly nations. She also emphasized that the Comprehensive Health Program represents a tribute to Fidel, to his legacy of solidarity, and to the friendship between the Cuban and Timorese peoples.
