Ambassador Alina Aldama paid a courtesy visit to the President of the Municipal Administrative Post of Dili, Mr. Francisco dos Santos.

 

Dili, February 13, 2026. In the capital of Timor-Leste, Mayor Francisco dos Santos, accompanied by his cabinet, received the head of the diplomatic mission, Alina Aldama, and Minister-Counselor Pablo Romero, who were assisted by Antonito Amaral. During this meeting, the Cuban diplomat expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to share details of Cuba's potential for collaboration in various areas. She proposed providing technical assistance on probiotic yogurt, which could be included in school snacks, offering immediate benefits to young students. She also addressed the current situation in Cuba, including the more than 60-year-long embargo imposed by the U.S. government and the consequences of the Trump administration's executive order. In the case of the President of the Capital Administrative Post, he reciprocated the thanks for the visit and the preference for selecting the municipality of Dili to implement this initiative, which could mark the beginning of improvements in the nutritional development of infants and their subsequent application throughout the rest of the country.
