Dili, September 19, 2026. At the Nobre de Lahane Palace, another commemorative event organized by the Timorese Medical Association was held, attended by the Cuban ambassador, Alina Aldama; along with the head of the Medical Brigade, Dr. Andrés Villar Bahamonde; and the coordinator of the Cuban doctors working at the country’s national hospital, Dr. Rogelio Garcés.
The meeting was led by Dr. Herculano Seixas dos Santos, current president of the Timorese Medical Association; Deputy Minister Flavio B.M. Araújo; and the permanent representative of the WHO, Dr. Arvind Mathur, among other prominent figures in the country.
During this meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Malaysian Medical Association, and an annual review of the association’s interests was conducted.
