Copenhagen, September 22, 2020. The Cuban Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark, Roger López García, presented the strategy of the country's authorities to mobilize the capacities of the national health system in the face of Covid -19.
The Cuban representative detailed the work carried out to contain the spread of the pandemic and explained that the success achieved lies in the strengths of the national health system, which has a network of primary healthcare assistance for the population, together with the capabilities of science, technology and innovation in the present stage.
Regarding Cuba's work with its vaccine candidate “Soberana 01”, the Cuban diplomat stressed that it is the first in Latin America, and that it currently occupies the 30th position in the select group of specific vaccines that, worldwide, achieved the approval to start clinical trials.
He also referred to the support of the Cuban medical brigades in the confrontation with Covid19 in various regions of the world and to the international Campaign for the nomination of the “Henry Reeve” Contingent for the Nobel Peace Prize.
López García pointed out that in the current circumstances the cruel economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States has caused enormous limitations to the country.
The stage was attended by three rganizations: the Communist Party of Denmark (DKP), the Communist Party in Denmark (Kpid), and the Communist Party (KP), and the President of the Dano Cuban Friendship Association, Sven Erick.
