In the conference room of the Vientiane Institute for Cooperation and Training, this day a conference offered by the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba at Lao PDR, on diplomatic relations between Cuba and Laos upon completion 45 years of the establishment of these relationships.
Ambassador Pablo Antonio Rodríguez Vidal recounted the most important moments of these years between the two countries. He recalled that although they were signed in 1974, Cuba had long cooperated with Laos and Cuban doctors were assisting combatants, leaders and the general population while they were still at war. He also recalled that in addition to doctors, agricultural engineers, sports trainers, Spanish teachers, among others, have passed through this country providing their input. There are already more than 150 Laotians graduated in Cuba and at the moment 32 students are studying, most of them, the medical career.
At the end there was an active exchange between the participants and the Ambassador.
