Dublin, September / 2019. Cuban Ambassador Hugo René Ramos Milanés held a working meeting with Minister Finian McGrath with the aim of examining common commitments to expand bilateral relations in the commercial and economic field.
Both parties found that several sectors have special potential to foster greater trade and cooperation between Ireland and Cuba and agreed to continue these efforts aimed at identifying new opportunities and potential actors. Eleanor Lanigan, assistant to Minister Mc Grath, also participated in the meeting.
Minister Mc Grath led last March the Irish delegation that participated in the celebrations in Havana of the Saint Patrick festivities, when he held several meetings with Cuban government authorities.
Cuba and Ireland will commemorate next October the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, for which they have proposed to develop dissimilar events in Havana and Dublin.
