Higgins, President of Ireland received in a farewell audience Hugo Ramos Milanés, ambassador of Cuba, and Soraya Torres Jaime, official in charge of consular affairs, who conclude their diplomatic mission after something more 4 years of service. After sending cordial greetings to President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudes and comrade Raúl Castro Ruz, the Irish president ratified his gratitude for the support provided by the Cuban government so that Ireland could occupy a seat as a non-permanent member of the Security Council of the UN.

Dublin, February 08, 2022. Hugo Rene Ramos Milanes, Cuban ambassador to Ireland, who will shortly conclude his diplomatic mission, was received at the Parliament headquarters by Mary Lou McDonald, president of Sinn Féin and by a group of parliamentarians from that political organization.

Dublin, March 1, 2021. The Cuban Ambassador to Ireland, Hugo René Ramos Milanés, held a virtual working meeting with Ambassador James McIntyre, director for Latin America and the Caribbean of the local Foreign Ministry, and Stephen Barry, deputy director.

The videoconference that took place in the friendly atmosphere that characterizes relations between the two countries was the scene to promote a fruitful exchange on various matters of bilateral interest and within the framework of relations between Cuba and the European Union.

Dublin, September, 2020. Cllr. Aaron O'Rourke, member of the Fingal County Council for the Sinn Fein party, paid a visit to the Cuban ambassador to Ireland Hugo René Ramos Milanés, during which they held a broad exchange on current national and international affairs and development of the relations between both countries.

Cllr O'Rourke is the youngest Sinn Fein Councilor was graduated as teacher at Dublin City University.

Considering that the Irish authorities have postponed the start of the fourth phase of the schedule for modifying the restrictions imposed for protection against COVID-19, due to a relative growth in positive cases that occurred especially in the last two weeks as well as the sanitary regulations of the Cuban authorities for their representations abroad, the Consular Office in Dublin will continue to carry out consular procedures only through the postal service, until further notice.
