Dublin, September / 2019. Cuban Ambassador Hugo René Ramos Milanés held a working meeting with Minister Finian McGrath with the aim of examining common commitments to expand bilateral relations in the commercial and economic field.

Both parties found that several sectors have special potential to foster greater trade and cooperation between Ireland and Cuba and agreed to continue these efforts aimed at identifying new opportunities and potential actors. Eleanor Lanigan, assistant to Minister Mc Grath, also participated in the meeting.

The NGO Equal Ireland with a tradition in the promotion of cooperation actions between Ireland and Cuba has been coordinator of a commitment that brings together the will of institutions and organizations of different nationalities to jointly promote projects of cooperation in the benefits of the peoples and the City Council of Galway was the chosen scenario to sign an Agreement of intentions between the mentioned actors.

Limerick, December 2018.  The Cuban Ambassador to Ireland, Hugo René Ramos Milanés made a working visit to the University of Limerick in which he held a meeting with his President Dr. Des Fitzgerald. The University of Limerick, despite being relatively young (it was founded in 1972) is one of the most prestigious Irish universities, it was recognized in 2017 as the best University and stands out for the quality of its postgraduate training, its active participation in scientific research and links with important companies.
