Waitangi. As part of the activities organized to celebrate the National Day of New Zealand, Ambassador of Cuba, Maria del Carmen Herrera Caseiro, held a cordial meeting with New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully Hon.
On the occasion, both sides discussed issues related to cooperation and ties between the two countries. At the same time, they exchanged on recent developments in Cuba-US relationship, context in which the Chancellor moved its satisfaction with the decision of the two countries restore diplomatic relations, while agreed on the necessity of lifting the blockade for progress on the road towards normalization of ties. In this regard, they agreed to deepen on this issue at the meeting that would support the following Monday.
In addition, the Cuban diplomat moved on behalf of the Cuban government and people congratulations on the National Day of New Zealand as well as the best wishes of prosperity and welfare for the New Zealand people.
