Cuban Ambassador meets with Green Party Members of Parliament

Wellington, 2 April 2026. — The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to New Zealand, Luis Ernesto Morejón Rodríguez, held a cordial meeting with Green Party Members of Parliament Tamatha Paul and Ricardo Menéndez March.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the international and regional situation, as well as on issues of mutual interest.

Latin art and talent on stage at St. James

Wellington, February 25, 2026.- Representatives of the Embassy of Cuba attended the premiere of Macbeth performed by the Royal New Zealand Ballet at the St. James Theatre.

The performance stood out for its artistic excellence and the virtuosity of Cuban dancer Ana Gallardo Lobaina, who delivered a powerful leading interpretation.

The Embassy thanked the company for the invitation and the opportunity to exchange with its leadership to continue strengthening cultural ties between both countries.

Latin American and Caribbean ambassadors strengthen diplomatic coordination

Wellington, February 24, 2026.- Heads of Mission of the Latin American and Caribbean Group (GRULAC) accredited in New Zealand held a working meeting at the Residence of Colombia in an atmosphere of cordiality and cooperation, reflecting the longstanding ties among our countries.

The meeting strengthened coordination, integration, and complementarity among the Latin American and Caribbean diplomatic corps, based on mutual respect and shared interests.

Meeting with the Campaign for Solidarity with Cuba in New Zealand

Wellington, February 23, 2026.- The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in New Zealand held a productive meeting with members of the Cuba solidarity campaign in the country.

Participants agreed on concrete actions to support Cuba in response to the recent U.S. presidential executive order declaring Cuba an “unusual threat” to its national security — a further escalation of hostile policy against the Cuban people.

Coordination was also achieved with activists and organizations in Auckland and Christchurch, strengthening the nationwide solidarity network.
