Cuban ambassador: ‘US moving to attack Venezuela’

AUCKLAND, New Zealand — “Cuba and other countries of Latin America are facing real challenges today, as the U.S. government moves to take military action against Venezuela,” Luis Morejón Rodríguez, Cuba’s ambassador to New Zealand, told a meeting of 55 people at the Onehunga Public Library here Nov. 23.

Embassy of Cuba welcomes the High Commissioners of Pacific Island Countries

Wellington, 12 December 2025.– On Friday, 12 December, the Residence of the Embassy of Cuba hosted a cordial gathering with the High Commissioners of the Pacific Island countries accredited in New Zealand, in an atmosphere of friendship and constructive dialogue.

During the evening, the Ambassador of Cuba welcomed the guests and highlighted the honour for Cuba of serving as a Dialogue Partner of the Pacific Islands Forum, as well as the deep value his country attaches to its relations with the Pacific region, united by historical and cultural ties and a strong sense of community.

Commemoration of the Anniversary of the Passing of Fidel Castro in Auckland

Auckland, 23 November 2025.— On the occasion of a new anniversary of the passing of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, the Auckland Cuba Friendship Association organized a heartfelt commemorative event at the Onehunga Library. The gathering brought together around half of hundred guests, including representatives from various sectors of New Zealand society and members of the community in solidarity with Cuba.
