Kingston, 20 February 2024. The Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica Fermín Quiñones Sánchez, held a meeting with Mr. Phillip Ramson, president of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, and other members of its board of directors.
During the exchange, the Cuban diplomat highlighted the opportunities for trade between the two countries, following the implementation of new measures and initiatives to boost the domestic economy and foreign trade, while updating them on the negative impact on the population of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US government against Cuba.
The Jamaican counterpart acknowledged the contributions of the Medical and Educational Brigades working in this territory and highlighted the potential of the Cuban market for trade and investment.
