Kingston, 26 May 2023. Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica Fermin Quiñones Sanchez held a courtesy meeting with the Honourable Desmond McKenzie, CD, MP, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development.
During the exchange, both parties recognised the historic ties of brotherhood between the two nations and stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation in various areas, including disaster management.
The Cuban diplomat conveyed to Minister McKenzie the gratitude of the Cuban people and government for Jamaica's continued support in denouncing the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US government against Cuba and denouncing the inclusion of our country in the unilateral and spurious list of state sponsors of terrorism.
