Kingston, 30 September 2025. The Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica, Fermín Quiñones Sánchez, held a farewell meeting with the leadership of the Left Alliance for National Democracy and Socialism (LANDS), headed by its president Sabrina Medwinter.
During the exchange, the Cuban diplomat provided an update on the effects of the genocidal blockade against our country over the past year and referred to the upcoming vote on the resolution ‘Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba’ at the United Nations General Assembly.
He also thanked the members of LANDS for their support and solidarity with Cuba during his mission in Jamaican territory.
For her part, Sabrina reiterated LANDS' commitment to defending peace, solidarity, and support for the Cuban people in their struggle against the blockade and the exclusion of the Greater Antilles from the spurious list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism.
