Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica meets with the Mayor of Kingston & St. Andrew.

Kingston, April 20, 2026. On the morning of April 17, the Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica, Tania López Larroque, visited the offices of the Mayor of Kingston & St. Andrew. She was received by the Mayor, His Worship Andrew Swaby, and his staff.

During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat provided an update on current events in Cuba, detailing the impacts that characterize the complex situation our country is facing as a result of the energy blockade imposed by the United States. For his part, the Mayor reaffirmed the solidarity and support of the Jamaican people in the just struggle to end the genocidal policy imposed by U.S. imperialism more than six decades ago.

Both sides acknowledged the historical, cultural, and family ties that unite the Cuban and Jamaican peoples.
