Ambassador of Cuba to the Kingdom of Cambodia presents Credential Letters

PHNOM PENH, May 6, 2024.- Cuba and Cambodia renewed the commitment to expand and diversify bilateral ties during the Credentials presentation ceremony of Ambassador Milena Caridad Zaldívar Piedra to His Majesty, King Norodom Sihamoni, held in this capital.

In a pleasant dialogue, both parts shared the conviction of advancing together in this purpose based on the excellent diplomatic ties maintained for more than six decades between the kingdom and the Caribbean Island, founded on the shared principles of solidarity, defense of peace and progress.

Likewise, they highlighted the cooperation programs in education, health and sports carried out by Cuba, with a favorable impact on Cambodian society, which reinforces the will to implement other modalities of bilateral exchange towards sectors of common interest such as culture, biotechnology and agriculture.


 
His Majesty, Norodom Sihamoní transcended his appreciation and admiration for the Cuban people for the humanism, resilience and altruistic character shown to Cambodia in difficult times for the nation. Legacy of the mutual feelings of respect and admiration between King Father Norodom Sihanouk and the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.

For her part, Zaldívar Piedra thanked the Cambodian head of state for her words and highlighted the kingdom's invariable solidarity with Cuba in multilateral meetings.

The Cuban diplomat also highlighted the importance of both nations advancing in compliance with the agreements and consensus reached in the high-level dialogues, whose implementation undoubtedly predicts well-being and prosperity for both peoples. (EmbaCuba Cambodia)
