Cuba condemns and denounces new escalation of US economic blockade

The Revolutionary Government condemns in the strongest terms the new escalation by the US government against Cuba in its efforts to impose a total blockade on fuel supplies to our country. The executive order issued by the US President on January 29, 2026, declares a supposed national emergency, under which his government will be able to impose trade tariffs on imports of products from countries that supply oil to Cuba.

Cuba’s strong condemnation of the cowardly U.S. aggression against Venezuela and its absolute support for that sister nation

This cowardly U.S. aggression constitutes a criminal act and a violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations. It represents a dangerous escalation of the sustained campaign of war waged for years by the United States against that sister nation, which intensified beginning in September 2025 with the aggressive naval deployment in the Caribbean Sea, under false pretexts and unfounded accusations lacking any evidence.

Statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla.

The exaggerated and aggressive military presence of the United States in the region constitutes a threat against Latin America and the Caribbean as a whole. With the encouragement of the Secretary of State, the main and immediate target is the violent overthrow of the government of Venezuela through the use of U.S. military force, an extremely dangerous and irresponsible action with unpredictable and incalculable consequences.

Cuba Categorically Rejects Claims of Participation in the Conflict in Ukraine

The Government of the Republic of Cuba rejects the mendacious allegations being spread by the United States Government concerning an alleged involvement of Cuba in the military conflict in Ukraine. This is a slanderous accusation first launched in 2023 by certain media outlets without offering any evidence or substantiation of any kind, and clearly serving an assigned purpose.
