The Hague, June 8, 2017. A positive exchange took place in the main office of the Dutch organization for the internationalization in education (Nuffic) after its Dutch initials) between the general director of this insititution Mr. Freddy Weima and the Ambassador of Cuba to The Netherlands, H.E. Mrs. Soraya Alvarez. During the meeting, they went over the outcome of the cooperation between Nuffic and Cuba and of the visits to Cuba by delegations of the Government of The Netherlands during 2016 and 2017 such as the visit by the delegations headed by the Minister for Foreign Trade and International Development, Mrs. Lilianne Ploumen and the Minister of Education, Culture and Science , Mrs. Jet Bussemaker respectively.
In the meeting, both parties identify means and modalities to foster Cuba's involvement in projects of institutional cooperation, capacity training and other services offered by Nuffic with funds from the Dutch government for different purposes in the fields of education in developing countries.
The Ambassador of Cuba also learned about Nuffic plans in the management of scholarships to make studies in the different levels of higher education, as well as bilateral initiatives promoted among universities, companies and governments in specific sectors of interest for both parties.
