Meeting of the Solidarity Network with Cuba in the Netherlands
Amsterdam, November 4, 2025. At the Pakhuis headquarters in the Dutch capital, a group of friends gathered to discuss their experiences in Cuba and enjoy the film “London Recruits,” by British director Gordon Main. The evening was organized by the Solidarity Network with Cuba in the Netherlands.
The documentary, based on the book of the same name, shows the efforts and courage of several individuals recruited in London to support the African National Congress in the fight against Apartheid in South Africa during the 1960s.
International Community Reiterates Its Condemnation of the Blockade
The Hague, October 29, 2025. The international community reaffirmed its condemnation of the U.S. blockade against Cuba, within the framework of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, by 165 votes to only 7 against.
The support offered by numerous friends in different parts of the world, including the Netherlands and Luxembourg, contributes each year to achieving this important result, which offers new lights of hope to the Cuban people.
Lecture of the Cuban Ambassador to the European Medicines Agency (EMA)
Amsterdam, October 29, 2025. The Cuban ambassador to the Netherlands, Eva Yelina Silva Walker, gave a lecture at the European Medicines Agency to celebrate Black History Month.
The Cuban diplomat spoke about the influence of Africa, its traditions, and culture on the development of science, medicine, and pharmacology in Cuba. She also mentioned the presence of Cuban doctors in African lands, where they have contributed to improving the health indicators of their populations.
Cuba's Participation in the International Congress of Pediatric Oncology
Amsterdam, October 24, 2025. Drs. Mariuska Forteza Sáez and María del Carmen Llantá Abreu represented Cuba at the Congress of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP 2025), which took place in the Dutch capital from October 20 to 23.
The Cuban doctors, who work at the National Institute of Oncology and Radiology (INOR), presented the results of research conducted by a team of doctors and scientists from the Institute, under the title "Development of Pediatric Palliative Care in Cuba."
