Ambassador of Cuba to Norway exchanges with members of the Board of Directors of InFiL Foundation

Oslo, April 30, 2024. The ambassador of Cuba to Norway, Maité Rivero Torres, had the pleasure to receive several members of the Board of Directors of the InFiL Foundation.

It was a suitable occasion to exchange on the current situation in Cuba, particularly on the effects of the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than sixty years, which constitutes the main obstacle to the development of the country and affects the living conditions and well-being of the people.

The arbitrary inclusion of Cuba in the US State Department’s unilateral list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism and its extremely negative impact on the national economy was another of the topics addressed.

The diplomat stressed that Cuba will continue looking for way-outs to the siege imposed on it, as well as ways to achieve prosperity and support and expand the social programs, which are major achievements of the Revolution.

InFiL was founded in 1980 by Inger and Finn Lie with the aim of fighting blindness worldwide and supporting health-related projects in developing countries. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
