For almost an hour, the Cuban diplomat addressed different issues, including the state of bilateral relations between Cuba and New Zealand; his country's links with the United States, highlighting the impact of the blockade, the escalation in the economic war against Cuba and the Helms Burton Act; the Cuban health system and international cooperation in that area, with emphasis on the Pacific; Cuba's vision of the situation in Venezuela and its country's support for the Bolivarian Revolution; as well as current affairs in Cuba, including its democratic system, the role of mass organizations, the work of the government led by President Díaz Canel and the ruling role of the Communist Party.
