Ambassador of Cuba participates in a program on cycling and international cooperation

Copenhagen, May 23, 2022. The Ambassador of Cuba, in the Kingdom of Denmark, Roger López García, participates in the closing session on urban cycling that, for two weeks, took place in the capital of this country Nordic.

In his intervention, the Cuban diplomat signified the result of the established international cooperation, with the aim of promoting safe cycling, as an alternative to urban transport, and in correspondence with the United Nations Sustainable Development objectives.

The event, which concluded last Sunday, May 22, welcomed a Cuban delegation made up of the Director of Civil Society, Heritage, Community, and Environment (SCPCMA), Martha Oneida Pérez Cortés, and the Deputy Director of the Master Plan, of the Office of the City Historian, Kiovet Sánchez Alvarez, who participated in various workshops, conferences, and practical exercises. Both explained the characteristics of the existing cooperation project, and the development of its execution in Cuba.

With the purpose of encouraging the use of the bicycle and its social, environmental and health connections, the International Cooperation project "Support for Urban Cycling in Havana" was born, which is carried out by the (SCPCMA), together with "Emergency Architecture and Human Rights” (ER-HR), from Denmark, with the support of “Civil Society in Development (CISU) structure that is part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
