AMBASSADOR OF CUBA PAYS TRIBUTE TO THE UNFORGETTABLE MIKIS THEODORAKIS

The Cuban Ambassador to Greece, Aramís Fuente Hernández, paid a heartfelt tribute to the admired and dear friend of Cuba, Mikis Theodorakis.
During a visit to the Galata cemetery, where he laid a wreath, and later at his family home, the ambassador was received by the President of the Association of Friends of Mikis Theodorakis, Mr. Giorgos Agorastakis, and by the members of the Board of Directors, María Pitaridaki and Vagelio Chiotaki.
By signing the visitors' book at Theodorakis' house, the Ambassador recorded his emotion by paying tribute to the talented composer and great friend of the Cuban people and their revolution and highlighted the deep friendship that existed between the Commander in Chief of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz and that outstanding son of the Greek people, Mikis Theodorakis.
Mikis's bond with the Cuban people, said the Ambassador, and the way in which he defended great values is a vigorous example of the power of ideas, not only for the new generations of Greeks but also for Cubans and other peoples.
For his part, Mr. George Agorastakis, thanked the Government and people of Cuba for the love they show Mikis Theodorakis, confirming that he was a friend and supporter of the Cuban people; He is a defender of the revolution, freedom and independence of Cuba, about which, on more than one occasion he stated that: "I feel like I am part of the same revolution."
