Riyadh, June 19th - Ambassador Vladimir Gonzalez presented the credentials as the new concurrent Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Sultanate of Oman, with residence in the Saudi capital.
During a simple and solemn ceremony, the Ambassador handed over his credentials to his Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, who was accompanied by the head of the Royal Secretariat (Diwan), Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al-Busaidi; the head of the Royal Guard, Major General Khalifa bin Abdullah Al-Junaibi; and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al-Busaidi.
The Cuban diplomat conveyed to the Sultan the greetings and best wishes of the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudez, which were reciprocated. Likewise, he expressed his full willingness to do his best to help strengthen bilateral relations between Cuba and Oman in different fields.
Previously, the Ambassador had presented the copies of his credentials to the Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Issa Al-Harthy, who was accompanied by the head of the Protocol Department, Dr. Khalid Said Al-Jaradi, and the head of the Americas Department, Dr. Hanan Ibrahim Khalfan Al-Shihhi.
During this meeting, they also exchanged on the most appropriate and agile ways to increase bilateral ties between Cuba and the Sultanate in different spheres, with an emphasis on health, scientific-technical and sports sectors, as well as on the opportunities for promoting Omani tourism to the Island.
