Jakarta, February 23, 2026. Dagmar González Grau, Ambassador of Cuba in Indonesia, was received by Arif Satria, the new Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia (BRIN).
During the meeting, the parties reviewed the actions undertaken following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the National Research and Innovation Agency of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of the Republic of Cuba on cooperation in science, technology, and innovation in September 2024.
Both sides agreed that in 2026 progress should be made in the implementation of projects, based on the work carried out in exchanging and identifying mutual interests, particularly in the Health Sector with three centers of BIOCUBAFARMA.
The Indonesian side proposed the activation of the Joint Committee on Cooperation in Science, Technology, and Innovation, to exchange information and opinions on issues of science, technology, and innovation policy; to identify priority areas and specific forms of cooperative activities within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding.
Both parties emphasized the importance of supporting and facilitating this cooperation, given its significance for the development of science, technology, and innovation in both countries.
