Namibia. -This morning, November 16, 2022, Cuban Ambassador Sidenio Acosta Aday received the Honorable Mrs. Yvonne Dausab, Minister of Justice of Namibia, at his official residence.
In the sustained exchange, issues of mutual interest were addressed, related to the exchange of experiences in the operation of judicial structures in both countries. The Cuban ambassador referred to the recently held popular referendum and approval of the Family Code in Cuba, a legal instrument considered one of the most advanced in the world, given that it includes novel aspects in terms of the protection of minors, the elderly, as well as the LGBTQ+ community, among other aspects of interest.
The Cuban diplomat updated the Namibian head of justice on the latest events related to the economic, financial, and commercial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba and with the willingness of the Cubans to achieve final victory, with the accompaniment of Namibia and the rest of the international community.
The parties agreed on the need to strengthen cooperation relations between the two countries, as well as between the Namibian and Cuban institutions linked to the application of the law.
Also participating in the meeting were Mr. Tjunao Karumendu, specialist for Cuba at the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation of Namibia, and for the Cuban side, the counselor in charge of the political, economic, commercial, and cooperation offices, Rodolfo Ricardo Guzmán.
