Singapore, June 18, 2026.
Cuban Ambassador to Singapore, Lisbet Quesada Luna, participated in the important Asian Dengue Conference 2026, which took place this week in the city-state.
The Summit, which featured an opening address by the Minister of State for Sustainability and Environment, Janil Puthucheary, brought together nearly 600 participants from across the dengue ecosystem—researchers, physicians, policymakers, and community advocates—united by a common goal: to bridge the gap between scientific progress and action on the ground.
The Cuban diplomat learned about the different experiences in combating dengue fever in the region, which face challenges similar to those in Cuba, and held meetings and exchanges with delegates and participating organizations. This clearly demonstrates Cuba's ongoing efforts in the fight against arbovirus, even under the difficult conditions imposed by the intensification of the illegal and unjustified U.S. government blockade against Cuba.
