Singapore, October 30, 2025. At the Embassy of Cuba in Singapore, the closing ceremony for the celebration of Cuban culture in the nation-state took place. The event also included the launch of the Rueda de Casino dance group from the Cuban Salsa School in Singapore; a performance by the Cuban band “Havana Social Club” at Cool Cats Club dedicated to this important anniversary; the launch of a video summary of the ODAC Cuban Salsa Festival 2025; and the inauguration of the Embassy's official Instagram account in Singapore.

The Cuban Ambassador to Singapore, Lisbet Quesada Luna, held a fruitful conversation with Ms. Indranee Rajah, Second Minister of Finance and Second Minister of National Development, in the presence of Mr. Felix Loh, CEO of Gardens by the Bay, and Mr. Mehmet Akay, General Manager of Turkish Airlines in Singapore.
Minister Indranee was interested about the history and culture of our country, while also contributing innovative ideas to future cooperation projects underway.

On October 23, 2025, following a formal extradition request and by decision of the Cuban government, Chinese citizen Zhi Dong Zhang was handed over to Mexican government authorities.
This individual had been detained in Cuba on July 31, 2025, for crimes committed in Mexico: document forgery and human trafficking, as provided for in the Cuban Penal Code, and was under provisional imprisonment.
