Dear friends of the solidarity movement with Cuba in India;

My deepest gratitude to each and every one of you and to the vast international movement that you represent, for your persistent, tireless and victorious solidarity with the Cuban people.

It is an honor and a deeply moving experience for me to be here today, in this place, named after Surjeet, a man who embodied, like few others, solidarity among peoples. 

United States must end “energy starvation” of Cuba with severe human rights impacts: UN experts

GENEVA – The January 2026 executive order issued by the President of the United States imposing a fuel blockade on Cuba amounts to ‘energy starvation’ with grave consequences for human rights and the country’s overall development, UN experts* warned today.

“Cuba has been subjected to energy starvation by the United States, a condition in which the lack of fuel cripples the functioning of essential services required for a dignified life,” the experts said. “This unlawful blockade is not only disrupting daily life but also undermining the enjoyment of a wide range of human rights.”

Singapore Travel Agents Association (NATAS) participates for first time at FITCUBA

Singapore, May 11, 2026.

Singapore participates for the first time in FITCUBA, represented by travel agencies and executives from the Singapore Travel Agents Association (NATAS), a clear sign of interest in Cuba as a destination in Southeast Asia.

Cuban Tourism Minister Juan Carlos García summarized the virtual meeting via YouTube, expressing his satisfaction with its success. He noted that over a thousand professionals participated, and 120 digital booths from various countries were featured.

Cuba and Singapore strengthen parliamentary friendship

Singapore, May 1st, 2026. The Cuban Ambassador to Singapore, H.E Lisbet Quesada Luna, paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Ang Wei Neng, Member of Parliament and Chairperson of the Singapore-Latin America and Caribbean Regional Parliamentary Group.
 
Both sides discussed areas where Singapore and Cuba can strengthen bilateral cooperation, as well as the importance of parliamentary relations as a fundamental and comprehensive basis for reinforcing friendship, mutual understanding, and exchanges between our peoples.
