As part of the attention to this country, in which it is concurrent, the Ambassador of Cuba in Sweden, Alba Soto Pimentel, paid a visit to Iceland.
The occasion was propitious to hold meetings with various authorities in the Foreign Ministry, the President of Parliament; the Chamber of Commerce, as well as supportive friends and a representation of the Cuban community in the country.
At the official level, the mutual interest in continuing to develop bilateral relations and seeking new ways to diversify them was ratified. The reestablishment of cooperation ties was another aspect addressed in meetings with the Fishing Training Program, that is being carried out in the country.
The exchange with the friends of Cuba and the representation of the Cuban community, made it possible to see that support for Cuba is maintained and the importance of maintaining exchanges to update information about the country.
In all areas, the diplomat denounced the maintenance and tightening of the US blockade against Cuba, thanked the support for the Cuban Resolution that is presented annually at the United Nations and denounced the inclusion of Cuba in the spurious list of countries sponsoring terrorism.
