THAILAND, November 26, 2017.- The Ambassador of Cuba to Thailand, Héctor Conde Almeida, presented the Credentials that accredit him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Thailand, at a Ceremony with His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun (King Rama X), to whom he thanked the expressions of grief of the people and government of that country during the year since the death on November 25, 2016 of the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and reiterated the condolences of the people and government of Cuba on the demise on October 13th of the same year of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (King Rama IX).
In the cordial meeting both parties welcomed the good path of bilateral relations and reiterated the mutual will to continue strengthening them, with special reference on the historical significance of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries to be marked in May 2018.
King Rama X and the Cuban diplomat expressed satisfaction with the ongoing actions and the development potential of bilateral cooperation in education, health, science, tourism, sports and, especially, in the area of biotechnological applications for the benefit of both peoples.
The Ambassador of Cuba thanked His Majesty the King for the support of the people and government of Thailand to the United Nations Resolution on the need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba.
