Cuba condemns and denounces new escalation of US economic blockade
Statement by the Revolutionary Government
The Revolutionary Government condemns in the strongest terms the new escalation by the US government against Cuba in its efforts to impose a total blockade on fuel supplies to our country.
The executive order issued by the US President on January 29, 2026, declares a supposed national emergency, under which his government will be able to impose trade tariffs on imports of products from countries that supply oil to Cuba.
Cuban Ambassador Attends Reception at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand
Ambassador Pedro Pablo San Jorge and his spouse, Niurka de la O, attended the New Year's reception organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand.
During the event, the ambassador briefly spoke with Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow, reaffirming their mutual interest in strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Cuba and Thailand.
Cuban Ambassador Holds Meeting with Executives of Joint Venture in Bangkok
Ambassador Pedro Pablo San Jorge Rodríguez held a meeting with Songpon Deechongkit and Miguel Arias, executives from the Thai and Cuban sides, respectively, of the joint venture biotechnology company Abinis, in order to evaluate the production and marketing results for 2025 and discuss the company's development prospects for 2026.
Both parties highlighted the good level of existing cooperation, the potential of the biotechnology products developed, and the opportunities to expand their presence in the Thai and regional markets.
