Ambassador Pedro Pablo San Jorge Visits Chanthaburi Province.

The Thai Ministry of Commerce, through its Department of Domestic Trade, organized a visit by diplomats from 13 countries—including the Cuban ambassador—to high-quality fruit farms in Chanthaburi, a province that clearly reflects Thailand’s identity as a land of tropical fruits.
Chantapat Panjamanon, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Domestic Trade, revealed that this event was organized to showcase Thailand’s fruit-growing potential as part of the “Thailand: The Land of Tropical Fruits 2026” project, which aims to strengthen confidence in the quality and production standards of Thai fruit, while creating new opportunities to expand consumption in the global market.
The diplomatic delegation also included ambassadors from Portugal, Guatemala, Venezuela,  Italy, Kenya,  Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Belgium, and Hungary, as well as representatives from the embassies of Bangladesh, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan.
The visitors sampled fresh Thai fruit and processed products and gained firsthand insight into the lives of local communities.
Led by an advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister, the delegation visited various facilities and observed the entire supply chain of Thai fruit production, from the farm to the final destination.
