Paris, 17 of April. Today, the Cuban Ambassador to UNESCO, María del Carmen Herrera Caseiro, held a fruitful meeting with the Venezuelan Ambassador to UNESCO and current President of GRULAC in the Organization.
The meeting was conducive to addressing the priorities of the Latin American and Caribbean region in the different areas of UNESCO’s competence, as well as the work that the Group has been doing to advance a common agenda.
Both sides agreed on the importance of continuing to strengthen cooperation and joint work within UNESCO, in line with the historic relations of brotherhood between the peoples and governments of Cuba and Venezuela.
Ambassador Herrera Caseiro took the opportunity to congratulate the Delegation of Venezuela on the good work done in the pro tempore presidency of GRULAC and its efforts towards regional unity. For his part, Ambassador Rodulfo Pérez reiterated the recognition of Cuba’s prestige in the Organization.
Similarly, other topics of interest were discussed, such as the preparations for the Latin American and Caribbean Week at UNESCO, to be held next June.
