On the occasion of the celebration of the International Day of Education under the theme "Youth Co-Create the Future of Education," UNESCO highlighted the central role of young people in transforming education systems for peace and sustainable development, launching its "Education Pact 2030." During the event, Cuba emphasized its historic commitment to free, universal, and quality education, exemplified by achievements such as its 99% enrollment rate and its international solidarity through the "Yo, sí puedo" literacy method, which contributed to declaring Honduras free of illiteracy in 2025. Simultaneously, the Cuban delegation denounced the impact of the US blockade, which hinders access to technology, educational materials, and academic cooperation, limiting opportunities for Cuban youth and violating the right to education, while reaffirming its determination to continue advancing and collaborating with the international community.
