The President of the People's Supreme Court of Lao People's Democratic Republic, His Excellency Mr. Khamphan Sithidampha, accompanied by his Vice-President and the Judge and Head of the Court's Commercial Chamber, received today in the afternoon, at the headquarters of said institution, the Ambassador of Cuba, Pablo A. Rodríguez Vidal.
His Excellency Mr. Khamphanh provided the Cuban Ambassador with an explanation of the functioning of the Supreme Court and the rest of the country's judicial system. He mentioned the high level of political relations that exist between parties and governments of bough countries and emphasized the spirit of solidarity of the Cuban Revolution, not only with Laos, but with the world, putting as a more recent example the help that is now providing to Peru after its natural disaster. He said that Cuba is strong not only because of its political system, but also because it has guaranteed the social welfare of its people.
The Cuban Ambassador also offered an overview of the Cuban judicial system and thanked Lao PDR for supporting his country in the international organizations and also for expressions of respect, affection and admiration on the occasion of the physical disappearance of Our Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro.
