The Ambassador of Cuba was received by the Governor of the Riyadh region.

Riyadh, May 12th - The Ambassador of Cuba, Miguel Porto Parga, was received by the governor of the Riyadh region, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud at the governorate headquarters.

During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat thanked for the opportunity to be received by HRH, to whom he expressed his intention to support projects of common interest for the respective countries.

The governor welcomed the Cuban diplomat to the Kingdom and assured that his office is ready to receive any proposal of collaboration from the Cuban side.

In this context, the Cuban ambassador mentioned that in 2026, Cuba and Saudi Arabia will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, it will be an ideal scenario for strengthening relations between both nations.

He also referred to the construction of the King Salman Mosque in Havana with the collaboration of the Saudi side. Furthermore, he mentioned other cooperation agreements in the fields of sport, tourism and culture, which are close to being signed between the two countries.

In addition, he referred to other projects in the field of health, to the presence of Cuban doctors in various regions of Saudi Arabia and the US government’s discrediting campaign against Cuban medical collaboration.

On the other hand, both sides exchanged on culture, history and tradition of the Kingdom. In this regard, Porto Parga shared his impressions of his visit to the Historic City of Diriyah, while HRH invited him to visit the Masmak Palace.

Finally, HRH the Prince thanked the ambassador for his words and updated on the current state of bilateral relations between Havana and Riyadh. (EmbaCuba Arabia Saudita)
