Kuala Lumpur, May 5 - Invited by the humanitarian religious NGOs of Mindanao, SAMIN and BALSA, the Cuban ambassador to Malaysia concurrent in the Philippines, Ibete Fernández Hernández, participated in an online forum on the COVID-19 pandemic to expose about the health system of Cuba and its solidarity display in the midst of the current epidemic.
In the presentation, the ambassador highlighted the formation of the Cuban health system after the Revolution and how its development is closely linked to the ability to provide medical assistance to other countries. He said that solidarity and internationalism are values that identify the Cuban nation and that we will never stop practicing it.
The Cuban diplomat took the opportunity to denounce the policy of discrediting the United States government towards Cuban collaboration and the reinforcement of the blockade in the midst of the current situation that hinders the ability of Cuba to respond to the pandemic as well as the practice of solidarity .
More than 60 Internet users from the medical, scientific, social and religious organizations from the Philippines, the United States and Canada participated in the forum.
